Government spokeswoman says government needs new mandate
The prime minister needs a new mandate considering the “particular economic situation” Greece is into, government spokeswoman Olga Gerovasili said on Thursday in an interview with private radio station Alpha.
“The elections, like the prime minister said, are a moment of democracy. Nobody should be afraid. The particular economic situation the country is in … needs a new popular mandate,” she said and added “the people are the ones who will provide the answer as to who will govern.”
Gerovasili said the big question posed in these elections is whether people will trust Alexis Tsipras and SYRIZA, or the “old, worn forces” which governed for forty years … and brought the country to where it is today.”
