Greek stocks continued moving higher in the Athens Stock Exchange amid a positive climate prevailing in other European markets on Tuesday. The composite index of the market rose 1.85 pct to end at 667.47 points, off the day’s highs of 680.41 points.

Turnover conditions improved, rising to 40.756 million euros, with volume at 294,795,296. The Large Cap index rose 2.36 pct and the Mid Cap index ended 1.13 pct higher.

Piraeus Bank (17.14 pct), Alpha Bank (10.40 pct), Eurobank (10 pct) and Hellenic Petroleum (5.30 pct) scored the biggest percentage gains of the day among blue chip stocks, while Folli Follie (2.96 pct), Motor Oil (1.11 pct) and Lamda Development (0.89 pct) suffered heavy losses.

Among market sectors, Banks (7.52 pct), Financial Services (4.63 pct) and Personal Products (2.91 pct) scored big gains, while Health (7.63 pct), Commerce (2.94 pct) and Chemicals (2.11 pct) suffered losses.

Broadly, advancers led decliners by 67 to 40 with another 15 issues unchanged. Centric Holdings (30 pct), Ekter (20 pct) and Piraeus Bank (17.14 pct) were top gainers, while AEGEK (17.39 pct), Minerva (10 pct) and Elastron (9.59 pct) were top losers.
