PM Tsipras asks GenSec of Public Revenues to step down

Prime Minister has requested the resignation of the general secretary of Public Revenues Katerina Savvaidou, until pending charges against her for breach of duty and a misdemeanor charge are resolved, according to sources.
The sources said Savvaidou will have the opportunity to defend herself against the charges noting that at such a critical time there can be no questions as to the operation of the Public Revenues service.
According to reports in the media on Friday, Savvaidou is facing misdemeanor charges for allegedly breaking a law requiring TV stations to pay 20 pct tax on advertisements. The second charge of breach of duty for reviewing a fine imposed on a company.
